Having taken a break (several years) from serious running, I was a bit surprised to see how technology and innovation had contributed so much to the sport during my absence. I should not have been surprised since most areas of life now have a technical aspect to them. Running a marathon is a factor in every serious runner’s psyche at some time in his or her career.
